T/HERE -
Paintings created for this exhibition during C-19 times are like travelling diaries and different moods in my mind's changing landscape.
The painting "Under the Same Sky" refers to us all being t/here together. My "here" becomes your "there".
Being separated geographically during Pandemic, we were everywhere in our thoughts , during days of social distancing often globally sharing our presence in the virtual world to connect with others. On the other hand, travel restrictions altered us to stretch our minds and reunite us back to our roots.
T/HERE -the title of exhibition was in my mind already before the pandemic, when travelling was easy.
I live and work in Switzerland. Last Summer, after the first wave of Pandemic I stayed in a guest studio in Amsterdam. I used to cycle to the studio in the hundreds of years old warehouse area along quiet canals, streets and squares were silent and empty from tourist streams. I returned to paint in Amsterdam the Spring as well. After the curfew ended and the pandemic restrictions gradually eased, life and happy voices soon echoed trough the canals and allays of the beautiful city. The World started to wake up…
This is my first visit to Finland after previous exhibition, 2019.
The exhibition was rescheduled from April for July 3rd until 22rd 2021.

Korona epidemian aikana luomani maalaukset ovat kuin matkapäiväkirjaa erilaisista tunnelmista, mieleni vaihtuvassa maisemassa.
"Saman taivaan alla" teos viittaa siihen, että olemme täällä yhdessä.
Pandemian aikana olimme maantieteellisesti eristyksissä, mutta ajatuksissamme usein samaan aikaan monessa paikassa. Pitääksemme yhteyttä toisiimme jaoimme läsnäolomme virtuaalimaailmassa, samalla matkustusrajoitukset palauttivat meidät enemmän juurillemme.Näyttelyn otsikko T/here oli mielessäni jo ennen pandemiaa, aikana jolloin matkustaminen oli vielä helppoa.
Asun ja työskentelen Sveitsissä. Viime kesänä pandemian ensimmäisen aallon jälkeen maalasin Amsterdamissa. Pyöräilin ateljeen vanhalle varastoaluelle turistivirroista hiljentyneitä kanaalikatuja pitkin. Palasin maalaamaan Amsterdamiin myös tänä keväänä - ulkonaliikkumiskiellon loputtua ja rajoitusten vähitellen hellittäessä elämä ja iloiset äänet kaikuivat pian kanaalikujilla.
Maailma alkaa herätä...
Tämä on ensimmäinen vierailuni Suomeen edellisen näyttelyn jälkeen vuonna 2019.

Nach dem Abschluss an der Kunstschule Maa in Helsinki hat Irma Hameri in Finland, Franckreich, Schweiz, Italien, den Niederlanden und den Vereinigten Staaten ausgestellt.
Als Kosmopolitin, lebt und arbeitet Sie heute in der Schweiz. Ursprünglicht stammt Sie aus der Region der großen finnischen Seen und ihre Malereien fesseln uns durch ihren bewegenden, fließenden, geheimnisvollen, fast schon traumhaften Charakter.
Für Sie ist die Malerei eine Form der Meditation- das Licht einfangen, sehen , wie Nebelschleier sich auflösen und das Motiv sich enthüllt.
Inspiriert vom winterlichen Sternhimmel, den Nordlichtern ihrer Kindheit und den Sweitzer Bergen wird Sie immer wieder durch die Intensität des sich verändernden Licht inspiriert.
Ihre Malerei beeindruckt auch durch ihre Leichtigkeit und Ausdruck von Bewegung- in teils figurativer , teils abstrackten Kombination. Natürlich figurative Elemente, schnell auf die Leinwand geworfen, dienen als Basis zur langsam fortschreitenden Integration von Elementen, die ihre kontemplative Faszination für den endlosen Fluss der Zeit und der kreativen Schaffenskraft des Universums wiederspiegelt.

"Ik maak foto’s als ik in de natuur aan het wandelen ben, vaak vormen deze foto’s het begin van een schilderij.
Ik gebruik ze als herinneringen aan momenten die ik ervaren heb; het is niet mijn bedoeling ze direct te kopiëren.
Hoewel er in mijn schilderijen elementen kunnen zitten die de natuur representeren, altijd laat ik mijn eigen leven toe in het ontdekkingsproces wat schilderen voor mij is.
Water is ook een belangrijk element voor mij. Misschien komt dit is omdat ik ben opgegroeid aan de waterkant van een stad, waar ik de vier seizoenen kon volgen over de meren: het vier-meren punt in het midden van het Finse Lake district.
Schilderen is voor mij een vorm van meditatie, als een stil verwonderend moment wanneer de mist optrekt en er langzaam een eiland aan de horizon verschijnt, waar ik geen weet van had dat het er was."
